About the event
NICOLAS BERZI
S.I.T - SCÈNES INERACTIVES TECNOLOGIQUES On November 29th, Montreal theater artist Dr. Nicolas Berzi will host an exclusive live hybrid conference, offering a glimpse into groundbreaking technologies for scenic artists and producers. The event will explore the future of artistic creation and broadcasting, featuring a demonstration of Izzy Cast, a teleperformance technology co-developed by STUDIO SIT. This innovative plugin for Isadora software allows seamless global collaboration, webcasting, and remote performances by managing all media aspects—audio, video, data, and tracking—through an intuitive interface.
Nicolas Berzi, will also introduce his latest international project, bringing together collaborators from Canada, Portugal, and Brazil over the next two years. This initiative will culminate in a new scenic piece, My Little Pharma / Ma Petite Pharmacie / Minha Farmacinha, which delves into themes of isolation and identity crises. Drawing on the concept of Pharmakon, the project examines how art can resist and escape biopharmacopolitical control in today's world.
Nicolas Berzi is a transdisciplinary theater artist working as an author, director, producer, and PhD specialist in the integration of new scenic technologies. He founded Artiste Inconnu in 2013, still serving as its artistic director. In 2021, he co-founded SIT – Scènes Interactives Technologiques, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting live artists. While being the President and Co-Ceo of SIT, the structure has developed comprehensive programs that democratize access to new technologies and audiovisual tools, facilitating their use in artistic creation, production, and webcasting. His work bridges artistic disciplines with innovative technologies, fostering collaboration between scenic art forms and new media, expanding the possibilities of performance both in its creation and broadcasting possibilities.
