Johan Padan, a nobody, escapes the flames of the Inquisition aboard one of Christopher Columbus' caravels.
Performance: Júlio Adrião
Direction: Alessandra Vannucci
*"Above all, it is a highly critical and deeply ironic take on the so-called 'Age of Discovery,' considering that these lands already existed and were not yet called 'America.' It offers an opportunity to revisit history through the tragicomic journey of a wandering character who desperately tries to return to his origins but increasingly identifies with what he himself discovers as a new reality of life.
It is a play that brings laughter—sometimes nervous laughter—because the audience is not entirely at ease with what is happening on stage, as violent scenes occasionally unfold."*
— Júlio Adrião
WORKSHOP "THE ACTOR IN SOLO NARRATIVE"
Development of a methodology for storytelling through the use of what each actor naturally possesses—their innate ability to communicate—combined with what they have acquired throughout life, including physical and vocal techniques.
The actor in a pure and intense state, fully aware of and in control of their communication channels with the audience. More important than memorizing the text is truly knowing the story. Body and voice at the service of narration.
