The square is an empty space, someone crosses it, a body. Over time, the action of this body is theatre, its movement is dance, and the sound it produces is music. This is how the total work of art is created: a body crosses an empty space while someone is looking at it.
After a research on what public space is and its transformations over time, "I hear you in the shadow of the empty square, but I don't know about you", was a community artistic residency with more than 30 people on stage, including the deaf community, with its dramaturgy, music and sound space developed throughout the POP Residency.

This way of being in artistic creation is particularly relevant for Teatro Manga, a methodology that Tiago de Faria has recently developed in his work in contact with migrant and multicultural communities in the Lisbon area.
They are methods of creation that strive to capture and express, in an almost silent and non-narrative way, the quality of collective relations and the dynamism of and in the multicultural identity of each community.

Thinking about the proposal for the creation of the show inspired by "The Hour When We Knew Nothing About Each Other", by Peter Handke, we will investigate several elements that we have to take into account when thinking about the show. In this case, we will develop, along with the dramaturgical construction, an adequate theoretical and practical framework, which proposes the scenic design, costumes and lights for the staging. We will address the various components and relationships that arise from the staging proposal, the production process and the experience of those who work in the assembly.
